Nina Burrows

Nina Burrows

Chairwoman

I am Nina and I am originally from Hamburg. I have been living in England since 2004.
I have two bilingual boys and was delighted to come across the German Saturday School when we moved to Kent a few years ago.
It is a great place for the children not only to improve their language skills but also to learn more about German traditions and celebrations.
I joined the board in 2020 and am enjoying that I am playing a part in making German more accessible for children.

Asmus Ohle

Asmus Ohle

Treasurer

Hello, I am Asmus and have been with the German Saturday School since 2015. I’m originally from Hamburg, but I’ve been living in England for over 20 years. That’s why it’s very important to me that our two boys grow up bilingual and get to know the traditions we have in Germany. My boys love coming to the German school and I also enjoy exchanging experiences with other parents. Since I also work with numbers in my job, I was happy to take on the role of the treasurer which also allows me to get more involved with the school.

Philipp Lemke

Philipp Lemke

School Secretary

Welcome to our website! I am Philipp and my three children grow up in a tri-lingual environment. Early on I was looking for a place for them to speak and learn German with other children. The German Saturday School was a perfect addition to our efforts with languages at home. I am the secretary of the German Saturday School since spring 2019, live in England since 2011 and otherwise work as a lawyer in a toy and games industry – hence my duty to keep the school in order as a secretary in Tonbridge.
